This weekend, Ritz-Carlton inaugurated its fourth property in Japan with the arrival of a flagship hotel in Kyoto.
Located in the Nijho Ohashi district of the ancient city, the Ritz-Carlton Kyoto carries Japanese cultural motifs across the hotel’s architecture, interior design and outdoor spaces, including Zen rock gardens and waterfalls. Even so, the property retains the brand’s signature western luxury hotel feel which global travelers are accustomed to. 134 guest rooms, two restaurants, a spa and a Pierre Hermé patisserie are some of the amenities offered to guests in this well-appointed retreat.
Kyoto is arguably the most dazzling city in Japan replete with historic centuries-old temples, palaces, traditional gardens and the famed Gion District - the only place in the world where the Geisha tradition still thrives.
