A Sommelier's Worst Nightmare

As happy hours start to pour out onto the streets this spring (no pun intended), we have been craving kalimotxos (pronounced cal-ee-MO-cho), the poor Spaniard's drink of choice.

A remarkably cheap and simple cocktail to make, this bastardized version of a sangria consists of ice, cheap wine, Coca-Cola and a bit of lime or orange juice. Note that in our experience, the cheaper the wine, the better the drink tastes... Who knew boxed wine could come in so handy?!

Most people cringe at the thought of combining soda with wine, but a taste of this delicious nectar will have you hooked for the entire season.
