Starting tomorrow, Florence will have 10 joyous days dedicated to celebrating chocolate with the Fiera del Cioccolato Artiganale (Artisanal Chocolate Fair). Located in the Piazza Santa Maria Novella, the fair is an annual celebration of all things chocolate, showcasing the hard work of passionate chocolatiers from Tuscany and further afar.
For the 12th edition of this indulging expo, organizers are offering the public a series of free seminaries such as "chocoltatier for a day" and "little hands in pastry" (a cookie-baking workshop for kids), as well as other cooking demos by leading Florentine chefs that will revisit italian savory dishes with a touch of chocolate (think cacao based pasta!).
If workshops aren't your thing, worry not! Chocolate lovers can also partake by visiting all of the individual participant booths, gawk at beautiful handmade creations, sample new blends, and support hard-working masters by stocking up on as much chocolate as possible for the year!
Check out the fair's website for more information, and be sure to register for the workshops and cooking demos before heading over. A free aperitivo kicks off the fair on February 12th at 19.00.
